Tru Design is a New Zealand company specialising in the design, manufacture and marketing of quality marine products.
Specifically, their product design and development skills have helped VSPARS to come up with a camera housing that:
- is fully waterproof
- is fully robust
- has few moving parts whilst allowing cameras to rotate about 3 axes.

Early on, the decision was taken to injection mould the product to achieve the necessary quality and tolerances. Tru Design saw the project through from initial draughting to the final production run.
VSPARS also enlisted the help of the Plastics Centre of Excellence for the moulding of the clear domes. The requirements that have been fulfilled for these include:
- Unbreakable
- Solvent-proof
- High UV resistance
- Tinted to reduce solar glare
